Only 250 of us were needed to make the record. 901 of us turned out! This year it was just an event, but next year it will be a whole festival. Non-redheads weren't allowed on the football field but next year they can join us in the festivities. It is already in my calendar!
I had a funny conversation with my son one day and I immediately wanted to call someone because it was too funny. Instead when I had time later, I sent out an email to some I thought would appreciate it. Since then, we have had several conversations that I said to myself, I need to write this down. Every time I hear one of these pearls, it stays with me and keeps me laughing or makes me think, hence, Under the Influence…

Redhead Day
I read a short story during my morning ritual of checking the headlines on my Blackberry about "Redhead Day" where a photographer was trying to set a Guinness Book of World Records by having the most number of natural redheads in one place at one time. I was lucky enough to find the information later that night when I had time to look it up. I was so excited. I immediately signed myself and my three redheaded children up and waited patiently for the event to happen. Not only would me and my kids get to meet many other redheads but we would also, maybe, get into the Guinness Book of World Records!
